Lloyd is the guardian of all the animals here on our farm. He loves to protect and watch over the babies and acts as if he is their dad. You can often find him chilling in the rain or letting the babies use him as a fluffy trampoline. We are forever grateful to the family who offered him to us when we were struggling with a coyote problem. Not a coyote to be seen with Lloyd around!
Honey is the curious one on the farm and loves to watch over the babies, she is always exited when there is another little one around. Her favorite things include getting hugs, bothering Lloyd, eating grass and occasionally giving the kids a short ride.
These two were a bit of a surprise here, did you know that goats can breed through the fence?! Yeah neither did we....until Mavis and Melvin were born. They arrived in January during a deep freeze so we brought them inside and bottle fed them. Mavis is super sweet and relaxed, although one of the loudest goats we have. Melvin is an expert escape artist and probably the most curious of them all. They both make sure there is never a dull moment around here.
Baby is the Queen around here! After her mother, former Queen Daisy, left the farm to retire as permanent backyard goat, Baby stepped up and took her place. She loves treats, the occasional brushing, doesn't tolerate nonsense and keeps everyone in line. She is the first to let us know if we are late with their supper!
Phil is a Spitzhauben hen, we thought she was a rooster and named her Phil, turns out Phil lays eggs but the name stuck. She was hand raised by the kids and always stops for snuggles from the humans.
